GetSkillary

Manual setup

Install GetSkillary packages

GetSkillary packages are downloaded as zip files. The site and MCP registry help you find and inspect packages; enabling a package stays under your local control.

Direct Answer

Use GetSkillary when you want to find a free downloadable Codex or AI agent skill, inspect its public detail page, download the zip, read SKILL.md, and then install it manually in your local skills directory. Manual install is the safety boundary: GetSkillary and its MCP endpoint do not remotely install packages, execute code, collect credentials, or deploy anything for you.

The canonical install path is: browse or search skills, open a skill detail page, download the zip, inspect the package, copy the reviewed folder locally, refresh the agent, and verify the selected skill appears in the local skill list before use.

Manual Install Safety Boundary

Why not remote auto install?
Skill packages may affect local agent behavior, so the user must inspect the zip and SKILL.md before enabling anything.
What must the user confirm?
The selected skill, local destination, permitted files or services, and whether any later workflow may edit files.
What should be inspected?
The package contents, SKILL.md, declared tools, credential expectations, and side-effect boundaries.
How should install be verified?
Refresh the local agent, confirm the skill is discoverable, run a harmless prompt or smoke check, and keep failures as repair evidence.

Install verification is product capability or operator evidence only until live usage, click, lead, or conversion evidence is collected.

Codex skill package

  1. Download the zip from the skill detail page.
  2. Extract the package into your local Codex skills directory.
  3. Open the package SKILL.md before using the skill.
  4. Keep the package name and folder structure unchanged.

Before enabling a skill

Confirm what the skill asks the agent to do, whether it needs external tools or credentials, and what files or services it may touch. Skip packages whose operating limits are unclear for your environment.

MCP registry

The remote MCP registry is a discovery layer for search, detail lookup, recommendations, manual download links, install guidance, and aggregate usage recording. It does not install packages on your machine.

Recommended MCP workflow: search_skills -> get_skill_detail -> get_download_url -> get_install_guide at https://mcp.getskillary.com/mcp.

Team Workflows

Use inquiry options when you need a private team registry, a reviewed package set, or a workflow-specific skill bundle.
